2-Factor Authentication

Description

This feature is only available for the following data sources: SQLite, Online Database, Devolution Server, MariaDB, Microsoft Access, SQL Azure, SQL Server and MySQL.

The two-factor authentication provides unambiguous identification of users by means of the combination of two different components. These components may be something that the user knows or something that the user possess.

The use of 2-Factor Authentication is used to prove one's identity is based on the premise that an unauthorized actor is unlikely to be able to supply both factors required for access. If in an authentication attempt at least one of the components is missing or supplied incorrectly, the user's identity is not established with sufficient certainty and then access to the asset being protected by the two-factor authentication will remain blocked.

Remote Desktop Manager has implemented 2-Factor Authentication to our data sources using Google Authenticator, Yubikey, Duo and AuthAnvil.
